On the edge of a wooded area, facing the lake, the log house on Île Bizard seemed to be dominated by its imposing carport.

It was essential for the clients to create an entrance volume to their home, as well as to close off the carport and thus link the new garage to the house. It was important, however, not to lose the visual and functional breakthrough that allowed the gap between the two volumes to be walked along to the river.

To connect the garage to the house, the new link, which is intended to be inviting and translucent, sinks towards the lake, accentuating the translation of the volumes and allowing an inviting and direct breakthrough towards the lake. Despite the wooded surroundings, the house enjoys magnificent exposure to the river, and thanks to the extension created, the invitation to join the water is now more theatrical and private.
